Notice this will now be the “Pigeon Baby” post. I gave up on the other egg. I decided to crack it open and see what happened. Looked just like a regular egg inside. It must not have been fertilized.
The one that did hatch, that we have been tracking is growing fast. He is at least three times the size he was on the first day. He was more active today and his eyes were open wide. I keep saying “he”, I guess I’m figuring on him being a cock. Now watch, just because I said that it will be a hen. In any case, since were tracking his growth, he’ll need a name. I figure that one out soon.
Also I put his band on tonight. Fairly easy process. I actually read that you are supposed to do it at 5 days, but I can now tell you that 6 days is ok too.
