I went out in search of a Sage Grouse lek this morning. I was lucky enough to find it. What an incredible experience. I watch for almost two hours. These are some amazing birds.

We had our first big snow. I ended up with about 8 inches on my lawn. Much more to come. I had to get some pictures of my pigeon loft for someone. While I was out I got a couple of pictures of my favorite bird. I really like the first [...]

I got up early on Saturday to make the 2.5 hour drive to my favorite spot. Camryn, my 6 year old had decided that she wanted to come along. After hitting the Wal Mart in Payson for some supplies we were running a little late. It was getting light and I could hear shots from [...]

I missed a few days due to the vacation. He’s still growing. Specifically his wings grew a lot during the past few days. Looks like he is already testing them out a bit.
I also ended up with 7 other squabs that are just one week behind this guy. Should make for [...]

Notice this will now be the “Pigeon Baby” post. I gave up on the other egg. I decided to crack it open and see what happened. Looked just like a regular egg inside. It must not have been fertilized.
The one that did hatch, that we have been tracking is growing fast. [...]

Looks like it should be a good year for Doves. I have been seeing them everywhere. Hopefully we’ll get a few. Just a couple more weeks.
Here’s a picture of Cooper doing his best Gene Simmons impression after retrieving a dove on a previous hunt.

Today the second egg remains unhatched. The single squab was moving around more and for the first time, I saw it’s eyes open.

No luck with the other egg hatching today. I wonder if we have a “dud”. I’ll give it a couple of more days before I give up on it.
Here’s the day two photos.

I have been trying (key word there is “trying”) to become a half decent photographer. I like taking pictures. Todays group of photos I think is not quite as good as the last set at the pond. I used a different ISO setting and I think it was the wrong choice. [...]
